SAFEGUARDING POLICY:

It is a guiding principle of Saj Mahmood Cricket Academy (SMCA) that all children have a positive sporting experience in a child-centred and safe environment. We have a duty of care to safeguard the welfare of all children who come into contact with the organisation and we are committed to ensuring our safeguarding practices are compliant with statutory responsibilities, government legislation and guidance and England Cricket Board (ECB) requirements.

 

Saj Mahmood Cricket Academy ensures that the welfare, health and interest of all children is paramount and is applied equally, regardless of:

 

- Age

- Ability or disability

- Gender assignment or identity

- Sexual orientation, race

- Religion, belief or, faith

- Social-economic background


Where we identify that children who may be particularly vulnerable to abuse and we accept the responsibility to take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure their welfare. Specifically, our safeguarding policy will ensure that Saj Mahmood Cricket Academy will:

 

  •  Promote and prioritises the safety and well-being of children and young people, ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in respect of safeguarding and is provided with appropriate learning opportunities to recognise, identify and respond to signs of abuse, neglect and other safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.

  • Ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of incidents/concerns of abuse and support provided to the individual/s who raise or disclose the concern ensure that confidential, detailed and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored prevent the employment/deployment of unsuitable individuals ensure robust safeguarding arrangements and procedures are in operation.

  • The adherence to and compliance with safeguarding policy and procedures is mandatory for everyone involved in Saj Mahmood Cricket Academy. Failure to comply with the policy and procedures will be addressed without delay and may ultimately result in dismissal/exclusion from the organisation.

 

MONITORING

This policy will be reviewed regularly or in response to changes in legislation or government guidance, the requirements of the Local Safeguarding Children Board, UK Sport and/or Home Country Sports Councils and ECB, or, because of any other significant change or event.
